WIC Compass

WIC Approved Foods by State

What you can buy with WIC depends on your state. Each state publishes its own list, and they differ on sizes, brands and what is allowed. Choose your state to read its list, organized by food group, with the source and the date of the list. We last checked these lists against each state's source in September 2026.

How the lists differ

Two things change most from state to state: how much the list says about brands, and which juice sizes count. This summary restates each state's own document. Open the state page for the full list.

Arizona Arizona WIC Foods Database, October 2025 Every approved product is listed by UPC, so brands are named. Bottled juice is mostly 64 oz (a few 52 and 59 oz); frozen 11.5 to 12 oz and single-serve packs are also listed.
Florida Florida WIC Foods (DH 150-712), July 2026 Many foods allow any brand. Bread, cereal, soy milk and baby foods list approved brands. Shelf-stable 64 and 128 fl oz bottles; refrigerated orange juice in gallon and half-gallon sizes.
Georgia 2026 Georgia WIC Food Package Change Summary, August 2026 The 2026 summary lists types and sizes only. Brands are in the Georgia WIC app. 64 oz is the standard size; 48 oz, 11.5 oz and frozen concentrate sizes were removed.
Ohio Ohio WIC Authorized Food List (updated April 2026), April 2026 Brands are shown mostly as logos with the allowed varieties beside them. Shelf-stable 64 oz plastic bottles; frozen 11.5 or 12 oz.
Texas Texas WIC Approved Foods Shopping Guide (WIC-34), April 2026 Varies by food: any brand, listed brands, or items marked with the pink WIC sticker. Bottled 64 oz plastic, frozen 16 oz, and refrigerated 64 oz orange juice.
Washington WIC Washington Shopping Guide (DOH 960-278), April 2026 Some foods allow any brand; others allow only the brands listed. 64 oz non-refrigerated plastic bottles of the listed brands and types only.

Not your state?

Your state WIC agency publishes its own approved foods list. The USDA's WIC page links to every state program: fns.usda.gov/wic.

Your benefits decide what you buy

A food can be on your state's list and still not be in your package. Check your WIC benefits or shopping list, then use your state's app to scan a product before you buy.
